WATCH: SM Classics Performs Orchestral Version Of “Tree” For SM STATION’s “Our Beloved BoA” Project

On August 28th at 6 p.m. KST, SM STATION wrapped up its anniversary project for BoA with a special performance by SM Classics, a partnership between SM Entertainment and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

The 2003 track describes love as lasting and resolute like a well-rooted “Tree.” Latin violinist Lee Nail took it upon himself to re-arrange the song and BoA’s brother, pianist Kwon Soonhwon, joined the 46-piece orchestra to take part in the celebration. It is aptly accompanied by a music video that details the singer’s journey as a hopeful young artist to the K-pop and J-pop legend that she is now.

This single is part of a series of remakes by SM STATION for BoA’s 20th anniversary, naming the collection as the “Our Beloved BoA” project. EXO‘s Baekhyun first performed his own rendition of “Garden in the Air” and BOL4 followed it up with “Atlantis Princess.” American singer-songwriter Gallant showcased an R&B version of “Only One” that he sang in English while Red Velvet excited fans with Wendy’s participation in their cover of “Milky Way.”
