Red Velvet returns with not one but two surprises in tow!
As part of an event celebrating their labelmate and senior BoA‘s 20th anniversary, the group released as special cover of “Milky Way” on August 21st at 6 p.m. KST.
First unveiled in 2003, the song was reinterpreted by KENZIE who was also behind the original track. Red Velvet not only delighted fans with their jazz pop performance but also warmed emotions with the return of Wendy who had been on a long hiatus to recover from a particularly scary accident. Fans excitedly took to social media to welcome her back and expressed their happiness that they got to see her sing with the group again.
The single is included in a series of remakes by SM STATION for the “Our Beloved BoA” project which pays homage to BoA’s 20th debut anniversary. EXO‘s Baekhyun started the event by revealing his own take of “Garden in the Air” followed by BOL4 with “Atlantis Princess,” and Gallant with “Only One.” SM Classics, a special partnership between SM Entertainment and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, is set to wrap up the line-up with “Tree.”
Kwon Bo-ah debuted as BoA under SM Entertainment at the age of 13. She started her journey as an idol in 2000 and successfully broke into international markets, getting particularly impressive achievements in the then uncharted Japanese scene.

Katherine has been an ELF since 2010. She reads just about anything and is raising a pride of demanding cats. She’s been cold and sleepy these past few days, wondering if she really needs to go to work. Being poor and asleep sounds more and more appealing by the moment. But there are cats to feed so too bad for her.
