While every September is “Suicide Prevention Awareness Month,” preventing suicide is a topic that is important to us here at What The Kpop.

Did you know that celebrities like Brian Joo, Lee Sang Min, SHINee’s Key, and many more have all admitted to self-harm or suicidal thoughts? In addition, several of our own staff members at WTK are also survivors of attempted suicide. If we can make it through these difficult times in our life and concerning our own mental health, so can you! Please know you are not alone.

Depression, anxiety, difficult situations, and more can all lead to suicidal thoughts. We know that sometimes life feels overwhelming and problems seem too hard to bear, but we know that you can make it through! We firmly believe that suicide is never the answer. No matter how terrible your own situation is, ending your life is not the best way to deal with your problems. If you are feeling overwhelmed with your depression or anxiety or feeling suicidal, please reach out for help today! If you need some help and don’t have anyone to talk to, please send us a message through any of our social media handles such as Facebook or Twitter. We want to help you get through this difficult time and connect you with professionals who can help.

Today and every day, we want you to know that you are loved, special, valued, appreciated, important, amazing, strong, capable, and wonderful. More importantly, you are not alone in how you are feeling or what you’ve been through.

If you or a loved one struggles with suicidal thoughts, please reach out immediately by calling 1-800-273-8255 or chatting online with a counselor from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. For international suicide prevention, please view the list of crisis centers and suicide hotlines in your own country by clicking HERE.
