YG Entertainment has released the first teaser for 2NE1′s upcoming release “Goodbye.”
The track will be the final song to be released from the legendary girl group after disbanding in late 2016. YG stated in a previous interview that the members felt bereft at not being able to address fans one last time, so despite already disbanding, they decided to record one final song as a group. Since member Minzy is already signed with a new label, it is unclear if the entire group will be able to reunite or not.
The black and white teaser appears to be an individual teaser for CL. It shows a blurry picture of the original group in the background, with CL standing in the front, her image partially blocked out with shadows and light, her own shadow showing starkly against the backdrop.
The song lyrics were written by CL herself, and the music was written by composers J Gramm and Rook Monroe.
The final song will be released on January 21st at midnight KST.
