TREASURE13 will be debuting soon and YG Entertainment has revealed the story behind the group.
YG LIFE recently published “FROM YG,” entailing details on TREASURE13 from YG Entertainment’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk. With their debut between May and July, the group will be composed of two units, TREASURE and MAGNUM. Yang Hyun Suk explained that the group will debut as 13 members, but will also promote separately afterwards into the two units due to line distribution and other problems encountering groups with too many members. With a huge number of trainees (28, to be exact) on “Treasure Box,” the promotion of two units will allow the members to shine and share their individual talents.
As his 3rd generation boy group, TREASURE13 will be working with several producers, including YGX (Teddy, as well), The Black Label, and those under YG Entertainment. Unlike other groups, TREASURE13 will not be producing their own music.
Yang Hyun Suk also added that MAGNUM was originally BLACKPINK’s name, which changed it appropriately. MAGNUM refers to a bottle of wine with the idea of fans being “drunk” under their music.
The YG Entertainment CEO also added that news of a BLACKPINK song will be out tomorrow.
