Hello lovelies, and welcome to MNP’s very first Kbeauty review here on WTK! Today we’re looking at the Pure Deep Sea Water Mask by TOSOWOONG. TOSOWOONG is a lesser-known Korean brand that launched in 2004 and is known for simple, high-quality, yet reasonably priced cosmetics. Admittedly, they don’t always have the most alluring packaging, but read any reviews online and you’ll see the performance of their products speaks volume. I was really excited to try this sheet mask because I’m a bit of a mermaid at heart, and you could say the sea and products that utilize it call to me. So let’s dive in, shall we?
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
TOSOWOONG Pure Deep Sea Water Mask is formulated with deep sea water extract, xanthan gum, adenosine, and niacinamide to “effectively” moisturize, improve elasticity, whiten, and provide wrinkle care for sensitive skin.
INGREDIENTS:
Water Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Sea Water, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Sodium Polyacrylate, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Panthenol, Fragrance
PRODUCT PERFORMANCE:
The mask fit well and adhered tightly to my skin, just as it claims. The serum has a very light ocean scent that dissipates quickly, and the serum itself is very light and watery. It’s not at all sticky, however, I noticed it turned white and almost soap-like when I rubbed the excess into the palms of my hands. The mask was very cooling and refreshing, not heavy at all, and it was still moist after 20 minutes. As a result, I decided to leave it on for another 10 minutes. After removing, I patted in the extra serum from the package— it took a few minutes to absorb but wasn’t uncomfortably sticky afterwards. My skin felt nice and refreshed for a few hours after, and my skin remained noticeably softer the next day.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Pretty much everything above my neck is sensitive, so the fact this mask didn’t cause any sort of irritation makes it a win in my book. It did indeed moisturize effectively, but the best part for me was how it felt on my skin. I’ve tried many masks that have felt heavy, made my skin itch, burned my eyes from the fragrance, and felt uncomfortable overall— when sheet masks should instead provide a relaxing, spa-like experience making your skin feel revitalized! This mask definitely provided that great experience for me, as opposed to many other I’ve tried. It just felt really nice and honestly, I didn’t want to take it off! What’s more is that it’s very affordable (approx. $2 USD), yet feels high-end and is easy to find online. All in all, this is definitely a mask worth trying!
