Who wouldn’t feel the excitement when you see the ever-dashing actor Nam Joo Hyuk up-close and personal for the first time? If you’re a die-hard fan like me, I can’t blame you if you danced from happiness from the moment you met him.
Malaysian fans’ long wait to see heartthrob Nam Joo Hyuk up-close and personal is finally over. Galaxy Group, the event organizer in collaboration with YG Entertainment, previously announced that Malaysia was included for the actor’s 2017 Asia Fan Meeting Tour. After holding fan meetings in China, Thailand, Philippines, and Taiwan, respectively.
Nam Joo Hyuk is a South Korean actor who broke into entertainment as a model when he walked the runway of the SONGZIO Homme Spring/Summer 2014 collection in 2013. He went on to make his acting debut in the 2014 television drama “Surplus Princess” and also starred in “Who Are You: School 2015,” “Glamorous Temptation” (2015-2016), “Cheese in the Trap” (2016), and then proceeded to gain more international fame when he starred in “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” (2016-2017), followed by “Bride of The Water God” (2017). Currently, he’s being handled by YG Entertainment agency.
On October 21, 7:30 PM KST, the actor held his first private stage [Close-Up] at a fan meeting in Kuala Lumpur at STARXPO Centre, KWC Fashion Mall. Fans were all smiles and thrilled the moment they saw him, and I was undeniably excited as well.
Here are some of the highlights of Joo Hyuk’s fan meeting in Kuala Lumpur that totally made the fans overjoyed and fall in love with him even more. Check out the photos and videos below:
The quote “Taking a closer look is the start of love” from him was so sweet! Then when he used his manly voice to sing his favorite song for the fans? Well, to tell the truth, he could pass as a singer!
When the host of the event asked him what his message to his Malaysian fans would be and he responded by saying he didn’t expect to see so many people turn out for his fan meeting. Well, now he knows that he have a lot of fans in Malaysia! Another cute moment came when the host asked if Joo Hyuk has tried Malaysian food. He responded by saying that he arrived late to the hotel, just played a video game and then went to sleep, so he hasn’t had a chance to taste Malaysian food yet. This one is funny because it became obvious how much he loves to play video game instead of tasting the cuisine of a new place. But it was understandable since he didn’t have much time and needed to rest. He went on to sy that he will try to eat Malaysian food before he left, leaving fans happy to know he will experience a bit of their culture.
An entertaining moment came when Joo Hyuk did 30 push-ups in just 20 seconds! He was so confident and wanted to impress his fans by doing it. One thing for sure, now we know where he got his sexy abs from. Yes, we definitely love those abs of his!
Joo Hyuk said that he has never lost a bottle flip challenge but instead, the host beat him! It was a cute and hilarious moment!
A thrilling moment for a fan came when the handsome star made kimbap for her. I bet the kimbap he made tastes delicious, but even if it’s not, it would still be an honor to eat it, don’t you think? Of course, he still managed to look hot while wearing the apron too!
Another highlight of the night came with a memorable staring contest between Joo Hyuk and a fan. Do you know who won? The lucky lady! I admired her because she was able to resist his melting stare. Just look how intently he stared at her and she still survived! She even made him teary-eyed at the end!
The Q&A part where he answered some of the fans questions to him was also a special time. One question asked by the host was which of his former characters was his favorite. He then answered that Jung-Joon Hyung in the romantic-comedy “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo” was his favorite since their personalities are so alike. Can you imagine him as the sweetest real-life boyfriend just like Joon Hyung? I bet no one could resist him!
A very sweet moment came through a letter from Joo Hyuk that he wrote to his fans. This made me cry while he read it at the event. I believe it took courage for him to confess to his fans that he also felt lonely and has had struggles in life. He’s still a human being after all, despite his celebrity status. My favorite part of the letter is shown below. He also told fans “Aku Cinta Padamu” in Bahasa Melayu, which means “I love you.” How about you? Which is your favorite part of the letter?
“No matter how hard and difficult it is now, it shall pass soon.. And if you fight to the end without giving up, you will see hope”
Here’s the most thrilling part of the fan meeting! It was a role-playing game that made all the girls giggle! Those chosen girls were so lucky to be so close to him where they reenacted a scene as his leading lady. Look at those sweet scenes and how he hugged the girls. We envy those ladies!
The best part of the night to fans was when fans could participate in a group photo and hi-touch session with him. As a certified fan, this is what most of us wish for! To be able to have a picture and touch our favorite celebrity. Look at those beautiful smiles from the fans!
Look at this adorable moment when he walked down to the aisle and surprisingly gave flowers to his fans. Imagine how exciting would it be if you received a flower from him! He is such a sweet guy!
Another favorite part of the night was the fan-made video with Coldplay’s song “Everglow” and the “Happy Jar” gift which was full of positive messages from his fans. As one of the fans who planned a fan project for him, I’m happy to hear when he said that he was touched and appreciated our surprise for him! Watch the fan-made video for him and look how teary-eyed he was after watching it!
And here’s the last part— the moment when Joo Hyuk sang his last song for the fan meeting and gave a heart sign to the fans before he left the stage and ended the show. It was so sad when he finally said goodbye to his fans, but we’re holding on to his promise that he will come back to Malaysia next year. And that’s something exciting to look forward too as we definitely hope to see our favorite actor again!
