WTK REVIEW: CNBLUE, TWICE, NCT 127 & More Rock The Stage For KCON NY 2017

Without a doubt, fans were ecstatic about the second night of KCON NY 2017! Before the concert started, all the artists appeared at the red carpet event to get up close and personal with fans. You can view it by clicking HERE.

After a special MC appearance by Yonghwa and Jungshin of CNBLUE, popular girl group TWICE performed a medley of past hit songs like miss A‘s “Bad Girl, Good Girl” and Wonder Girls‘s “Nobody” as a little surprise for the audience. The girls illuminated the stage with their presence and definitely showed love and support for their company seniors with their performance. After finishing off with JYP‘s “Honey,” cheers were heard from the mouths of all fans throughout the venue.

UP10TION hit the stage next and performed their new title track “Runner” for the first time, an exciting moment for the audience to preview since this was before it had been released. Wows were mouthed when the choreography transitioned to the members demonstrating a quick, yet intricate, square formation. All eyes were on the boys who maintained stable synchronization throughout the new single.

Following their performance, UP10TION continued to emit their contagious energy into other hits like “So Dangerous,” “Attention,” and “White Night.” The audience wa pumped up from beginning to end with their addictive songs for both old and new fans. Seeing the boys execute a ballad would have been a nice change in their set list of upbeat tracks. Hopefully, they can return to KCON potentially in the future!

Screams and cheers broke through the air as NCT 127 leader Taeyong appeared alone on stage with an impressive dance performance. The rest of the members joined Taeyong in a well-executed manner and demonstrated their signature synchronization which started from their pre-debut days. Doyoung and Johnny exited the stage as “Fire Truck” began playing in the background, which made some fans disappointed but was reasonable as the two were added to the group after that song was released.

NCT 127 performed many other loved tracks, such as “Good Thing,” “0 Mile,” and “Limitless,” inserting some fanservice in between songs. Just like the first night with SF9, the boys played Fortune Wheel with the audience. Doyoung sang “Shoulda Woulda Coulda” while Taeil sang “Nothin’ On You” to a lucky fan, who gathered jealousy again when Doyoung called her “honey” in a sweet and loving tone. After almost deafening “I’m the biggest hit on this stage” chants from the fans during NCT 127’s newest title track “Cherry Bomb,” TWICE was up next as the second-to-last performance of the night.

With the sounds of “TT” in the air, no one could resist chanting along with the group, unable to contain their energy. The girls practically turned the venue into their own concert with other tracks like “Cheer Up,” “Knock Knock,” and “Signal,” all of which were favorites in the sea of fans.

Along with NCT 127, TWICE played Fortune Wheel on the screen and spun “Photo Time.” Even though fans were hoping the girls could do more than photos, it was genuinely funny to see the girls looking in different directions during their group photos together on the main and extended stages. Doyoung and Johnny, as well as Jaehyun, began a special two-language MC session in English and Korean as the concert staff brought out guitars and drums on stage, introducing CNBLUE as the next and final performers.

Yonghwa promised beforehand to make KCON like CNBLUE’s very own concert— and that he did! As a true band, CNBLUE demonstrated their superb guitar and drum skills and gave the audience a show to enjoy as Yonghwa traveled far from the main stage to give love and limitless fanservice.

“Between Us,” “Cinderella,” and “You’re So Fine” charmed the audience, but what gave the audience a night to remember was when Yonghwa walked back to the main stage to play a beautiful grand piano for “Can’t Stop.” Charisma flowed throughout the group’s last performance, making for a wonderfully carried out concert in the end.

Despite the end of the concert, the minds of fans were filled with joy and contentment, making for another year of KCON NY to look forward to.
