Starting in late August, FM Entertainment has been keeping fans in the U.S. busy with fan meetings, special events, and more. However, the fun continues as M.O.N.T member Roda joins the tour which continues this month! Read on for a recap of what has been happening and what is still to come!
The FM Entertainment U.S. Tour of Beomhan and Jay Chang
Since late August, Beomhan, an FM Entertainment trainee, and Jay Chang, a solo artist, have been on a U,S. tour organized by ATLocal. Spanning the east and west coasts from New York to California, these guys have been on the move, gaining exposure and fans, as well as emceeing events and sharing the stage with other talented artists. They have also been keeping a regular schedule of Twitch, TikTok, and Instagram lives to keep fans updated on their daily lives and fun events.
At each fan meeting, there were the staple features that fans could add on in addition to watching the guys’ performances. Fans could purchase VIP perks such as posters, fan signs, and selfies with the artists. Whether it was at festivals, such as the International Block Party in Duluth and the Mid-Autumn Festival in Dallas, or in special cafe events, fans were able to connect with the young stars up close and personal.
New York
Their first stop was Beomhan’s hometown of New York. For those who could not make it, the solo pre-debut show was streamed online. Fans were so happy to meet both artists and enjoy a concert after a long time of not being able to attend live events. Throughout the tour, everyone has complied with the preventative measures in place for Covid-19.
Georgia
Beomhan and Jay’s second stop was Atlanta. During the two weeks spent in Atlanta, the guys performed at a city festival, performed their own shows, hosted a picnic, held a dance workshop, threw a barista and restaurant event, and held online fan signs. Click here for an in-depth feature of their K-pop Extravaganza, resulting in many news fans and a special place for Beomhan and Jay in Atlanta fans’ hearts. Texas
Their third stop was Dallas where they performed in the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Asia Times Square and at the Galleria Mart. Everyone had a great time with fans posting rave reviews about the event and the stop in Dallas allowed for the artists to reach a broader audience and their popularity grew.
Surprise Return Trip to Atlanta: Talent Show and K-pop Concert
To the surprise of fans, they returned to Atlanta to attend and MC the talent show for the Korean Festival hosted by The Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta. They also put on their own show at the closing of the festival.
There were many amazing local and out-of-state contestants who danced, sang, and performed on musical instruments to popular K-pop songs, but ultimately the university dance crew from Georgia Tech, named GT Seoul, won first place.
After the first day of the talent show, fans rushed over to another venue at the Gas South Arena for a special K-pop concert featuring other up-and-coming artists. Inside an intimate theater located in the arena complex, fans were able to get up close and interact with MCs Beomhan and Jay and cheer on the talents.
The line-up featured a new girl group called Inter Girls, as well as Beomhan and Jay Chang, Keezy, and Luminus.
Inter Girls performed covers of girl crush songs, as well as a song of their own track “I’m Busy.” They also danced and sang to Aespa’s “Next Level,” Everglow’s “Adios,” BTS’s “Dynamite,” Sistar’s “Touch My Body,” and T-ara’s “Little Apple.” When asked about their first time coming to Atlanta, leader Aire said that they love Atlanta and thinks it’s beautiful like a movie. And, although coming to Atlanta during the pandemic was difficult, they were happy to try to relief some stress.
Next up were U.S.-based rappers that pumped up the crowd with their free-style rapping and a cover of Jay Park’s “DNA.” Joining them were two more artists: Doe and Jiwon. Doe has performed in China, Korea, Japan, and England as a DJ and a rapper. Jiwon is a solo artist who is popular in Brazil. Together, they performed as Luminus. Jiwon danced to “Ain’t No Time” by Kim Dong Han featuring Wooseok. Then, Luminus performed ONEUS’s “Lit” along with Inter Girls. They also performed G-Dragon and Taeyang‘s “Good Boy” and “Love Scenario” by iKON.
Beomhan and Jay performed last. They too danced to “Good Boy/” Beomhan performed his songs, “Ashes” and “Suns Up,” danced to “Mic Drop,” and showed fans his audition dance performance. Jay sang his songs, “Swimming Pool,” “Four Seasons,” and “Seattle” by Sam Kim. For the finale song, they sang G-Dragon and Taeyang’s “Stay With Me” to waving hands and flash activated phones.
Onwards with the Tour
Alabama
The fourth stop on the tour was Alabama. It was the first time the FM Entertainment artists had ever been to Alabama, and they were super excited to perform there. Beomhan and Jay were MCs and performed in the 2021 Korean Festival at the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts in Montgomery. The lineup again included Inter Girls, Luminus, Keezy, and Awrua/DJ Mixxblu. There was also a Hanbok Fashion Show just before the concert.
New Jersey and New York
For the fifth and sixth stops, Beomhan and Jay performed in New Jersey at the 2021 Korean Festival and back in New York City at MK Karaoke where artist Toshi opened for them.
Back to Texas
Beloved in Texas and Atlanta, the tour returned to perform in Dallas and San Antonio and came back to Atlanta for a weekend filled with Halloween-themed events and games. Beomhan and Jay dressed up as Kagami and Kuroko from Kuroko no Basket!
Tour Finale in Florida and California
In early November, the tour announced the news of the long-awaited finale of Beomhan and Jay Chang’s U.S. tour. The final locations would be in Orlando and Los Angeles. In Florida, they revealed a secret event where they performed at a K-pop Rave. Fans were able to take selfies with Beomhan and Jay. In Los Angeles also, fans were spoiled with secret events. In addition to taking on their waiter and barista characters from previous fan events, Jay and Beomhan became store clerks at a local 7/11. It was a unique event that more artists should look into for innovative fan service events! Their finale concert was on December 5th at the Bourbon Room Hollywood.
It nicely concluded the couple of months where fans were able to see, meet, and fall in love with Beomhan and Jay. Everyone deserves a nice, long, rest to gear up for the next tour…
…which has actually begun!
FM Tour 2022: New Year Kick Off
FM Entertainment is showing no signs of slowing down! In fact, they will be starting the year off with New Years with a brand new tour: New Year Kick Off.
A big surprise to everyone: M.O.N.T member Roda has come from Korea and is joining the crew! From December 31st until January 15th, fans in Atlanta, Dallas, and perhaps other cities, will be able to see Roda’s “Gallery De Roda” art gallery, along with live performance and events from him. Special guests Beomhan and Jay will also join him on tour. After ringing in 2022 at the NYE Countdown Party at Asia Times Square in Dallas, Roda will kick off his first art gallery showing and participate in a barista event with Beomhan and Jay. For MONT’s 3rd Anniversary, the crew will be in Atlanta hosting an FM kitchen event.
While some events may be changed due to the ongoing threat of the pandemic, hopefully the tour can still meet many fans and cheer them up during these times. It may be just what people need right now: a little dose of happiness from Beomhan’s smile, Jay’s honey vocals, and Roda’s beautiful art.
