On November 6th at 6 p.m. KST, rookie group ZEROBASEONE made their first comeback with an EP along with a music video for its title track, “CRUSH!”
The song features drum and bass sounds along with a Jersey club rhythm. Its lyrics expresses the nine members’ intense determination to repay their fans’ support and love by becoming the “thorns” that will protect the “roses” even if it means that they will break and collapse in doing so.
It was written by Melange (Inhouse), Songyu (Inhouse), Jeong Minji (Inhouse), Sunflower, Jo Yoonkyung, Danke, and Kass while Imsuho, Niko, Chris Wahle, Ryan Lawrie, Ronnie Icon, Nicole Timms, Andreas Öhrn Adora, and Haedo (Papermaker) composed the track.
Melting Point, the group’s second mini-album, has a total of six songs. According to the group’s agency, the album aims to melt the audiences’ hearts by opening up a new world with music and performances that are filled with purity, passion, and immersion.
This comeback comes a mere four months after their debut with Youth In The Shade, an EP that made ZEROBASEONE a double million seller as of September 30 KST (according to Circle Chart data). In addition, Youth In The Shade gave them the honor of being the very first K-pop group to sell over two million units with their debut album. They were also hailed as the first K-pop group to sell over one million albums in one day as well as breaking the highest first day and first week sales of any debut album on Hanteo.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
