WATCH: ZEROBASEONE Are Free Spirits In “In Bloom” Debut MV

On July 10th at 6 p.m. KST, ZEROBASEONE made their highly-anticipated debut with an EP and a music video for their title track, “In Bloom!”

The song features drum and bass sounds along with lyrics that talk about the chaotic yet vibrant experience of youth. It notably pays homage to Norwegian synth-pop band a-ha‘s 1985 hit, “Take On Me.”

YOUTH IN THE SHADE, the group’s first mini-album, quickly racked up the numbers after it was made available and raced past 1.08 million stock pre-orders on July 4th KST as per album distributors Genie Music. This feat makes them the first K-pop artist ever to surpass one million stock pre-orders for a debut album!

ZEROBASEONE is a nine-member fifth-generation K-pop project group formed through Mnet‘s 2023 trainee survival show, “Boys Planet.” It is composed of members Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Jang Ha-o, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Ricky, Kim Kyubin, Park Gunwook, and Han Yujin.
