K-pop group Y&W (Young & Wild), consisting of members from idol groups Boys’ Republic, 14U, INX, and Elvin Crew, returned on September 26th KST with their second single, “Thirsty Now.”
Encompassing what the team name describes and flaunting the members’ wild charms and boyish beauty, this impressive song is full of energy and a sexy vibe. The distinctive sound of the Moog bass over the rhythm and gentle synth sounds create a strange and satisfying atmosphere.
Rocking electric guitar is added in contrast to the emotional melody line and delicate lyrics which differentiate themselves from existing idol songs, especially when the rising beat comes to a halt at the killing part of the track.
The song was produced by Korean rapper Outsider, hit singer Young Tak (who emerged through the reality television show “Mr. Trot”), as well as Ji Kwang-min— this being the first idol work for the latter two talented musicians. The support of Outsider, who is credited as one of the fastest rappers in the world, further doubled the speed and thrill of the song.
