WATCH: WayV Makes Explosive Debut With “Regular”

After a year of being hinted at, NCT‘s affiliated Chinese unit has finally come to take center stage!

WayV (also called WeiShenV or 威神V), while technically under a Chinese label, is SM Entertainment‘s newest addition to the NCT line-up.

It is composed of seven members: four are already familiar since they have debuted under NCT and three are from SM’s trainee program, SM Rookies. Ten, Lucas, Kun and WinWin are already part of NCT while Hendery, Xiao Jun, and Yangyang are fresh faces introduced to the public.

Released on January 17, WayV’s “Regular” is the third rendition of the song after previously being sung in English and Korean by NCT 127. Just like how the English and Korean versions contain different meanings despite being “the same song,” the Chinese version sings about fame, success, and enjoying the feeling of being looked up to.

The music video is a stunning plethora of visuals from the futuristic industrial sets, to the outfits, and the boys themselves. They showed off the awe-inspiring dance skills that their brother group, NCT, is widely known for.

Along with the release of the music video for their title track, WayV’s very first EP, The Vision, was also made available online. The album contains three tracks: “Regular,” “Come Back,” and “Dream Launch”

The group will be mainly promoting in China but may possibly be joining NCT’s future activities as well.
