Rapper Do Hanse of VICTON made his solo debut on September 25th at 6 p.m. KST with double title tracks from his first digital album BLAZE.
“Take Over” serves as the album’s lead single and was written solely by Hanse. Composed and arranged by producers PATEKO and Iamdl, the house genre song features pulsating beats reminiscent of a fashion runway.
Hanse’s entire look and the music video’s concept reflects that sound by casting four of South Korea’s most prominent drag artists – Nana (who K-pop fans might recognize from VANNER‘s “Form” MV), Vita Mikju, Bambi, and Serena from company Neon Milk.
Exploding with unbothered confidence and rhythmic finesse, the intense track displays Hanse’s unique rap style and tone which has stood out as a signature fixture of VICTON’s core sound since the group’s 2016 debut.
With the second title track “Public Enemy,” the rapper provides a complete 180 with an unexpected pop-punk sounding ear-worm. Highlighting the artists’ musical depth and diversity, the song contains the message of a young boy who is hated like a public enemy but just wants to be loved. It features musician Jayci Yucca who wrote the lyrics with Hanse and composed the song with PATEKO and Iamdl.
BLAZE contains four additional songs spanning various genres such as dreamy trap, R&B, and hip-hop and includes features from talented artists Skinny Brown, BIGONE, Kid Wine, and YongYong.
