Back with the third episode in their “FACE IT” series, Jellyfish Entertainment boy group VERIVERY have released their fifth mini-album, entitled FACE US, on October 13th at 6 p.m. KST.
The album’s title track “G.B.T.B.” (which stands for Go Beyond The Barrier) is an electro trap genre song with impressively strong melodies. It tells the story of VERIVERY’s ambition to move beyond the barriers to create a new world. The key to this new world relies on the connection between “me” and “you,” as explored in the “FACE IT” series’ previous installments, FACE ME and FACE YOU.
“G.B.T.B.” shows a more advanced musical growth for the group, along with a more powerful, sophisticated choreography that intuitively expresses the lyrical themes of connection. In particular, the organic synergy of the seven members further raises the image of VERIVERY’s already proven performance strengths.
The large scale futuristic music video expands on the song’s message, using technological elements and outer world themes such as space, satellites, and server rooms to represent the message being transmitted around the world.
The bolder and more dynamic third story of the “FACE IT” series intends to console young people— who think they are alienated and disconnected— through the hopeful message that we can overcome any obstacles together and eventually face a new beginning.
