Returning after a nearly three-year hiatus, VAV is back with their seventh mini-album Subconscious on June 12th at 6 p.m. KST.
“Designer” is the title track that sees the boy group revisit the Latin-pop genre which has become somewhat of a signature sound for them. It is an attractive song with a strong 808 sound and combination of Afrobeat and trap rhythms that changes throughout the composition.
The lyrics, written by VAV members Lou and Ayno, contain affirmations that everyone is like a “designer” of their own life. Meanwhile, internationally renowned musicians PUFF, Davey Nate and Timothy “C Minor” Zimnoch composed the track.
The music video is a visual treat with its Latin-inspired flair and cinematic scenery thanks to the Los Angeles filming location. Each VAV member shines in their individual stories all representing their own “designer” life differently. The choreography is elegant and strong, while perfectly showcasing the evident teamwork and performance synergy of the group now in their eight year.
Members of VAV participated in the production of all the songs on Subconscious, a trend that continues to increase even more with every album release.
