Yeonjun is the first member of TXT to showcase his solo talents through his mixtape GGUM released on September 19th at 6 p.m. KST!
The title track “GGUM” is a catchy hip-hop tune with an electro sound with a clever mix of machine-modulated vocals and a strong piano-driven break. Yeonjun’s expressive lyrics are straightforward and unreserved, using the theme of chewing gum to express his confidence and aspirations on stage.
Credited alongside Yeonjun in the creation of “GGUM” are songwriters Teemu Brunila, Jurek, TIMMS, Benji Bae, Ryan Curtis, and Jesse Thomas. Yeonjun participated heavily in the choreography and worked together to refine the song’s unique gestures.
The music video is full of cool, free-spirited vibes, using the witty idea of a gum balloon that grows bigger in confidence. The powerful military-style dance and the hip production make his performance particularly memorable.
