tvN has finally revealed the first teaser videos for the upcoming fantasy drama ‘’Hwayugi’’!
“Hwayugi,” also known as “A Korean Odyssey,’’ stars Cha Seung Won, Oh Yeon Seo and Lee Seung Gi.
The new series is written by the Hong Sisters, famous for dramas such as “My Girlfriend is A Gumiho,” “Greatest Love,’’ and ‘’You’re Beautiful.’’ The series is based on the classic Chinese novel entitled “Journey to the West.’’
As opposed to the famous novel, the series will be set in the present day with a romantic comedy twist. Meanwhile, fans can still expect fun, thrills, and horror in the fantasy-based drama.
Cha Seung Won will act as the God of Monsters (based on the Bull Demon King of the original novel), Woo Ma Wang. Oh Yeon Seo will be playing Sam Jang, a human who is descended from Monks who have the power to rid the world of demons, and Lee Seung Gi will play Son Oh Gong, a powerful and mischievous god.
The teaser gives a glimpse of each character while making the viewers even more curious as to what this drama will entail.
We are anticipating a fun fantasy ride on December 23rd as it airs its first episode at 21:00 KST.
