TRCNG is back!
On January 2nd KST, the rookie boy group from TS Entertainment made their comeback with “Wolf Baby.” The music video shows the members running around like a literal group of puppies, having fun while trying to be fierce wolves. However, they ultimately end up getting in trouble and playing tricks on each other. While the imagery looks dark at first, you soon seen that their “bloody” mouths are actually just covered in ketchup and the gross severing of a hand is just a practical joke.
While the song is a fun, funky pop song with hip-hop influences, the real impact lies in the concept. Many Kpop fans have been doubting the potential of TRCNG due to their young age. In addition, they’ve been criticizing the company for trying to create another B.A.P, TRCNG’s senior group that is known for tackling fierce concepts and harder-hitting music. The wolf cub playing at being fierce seems to be a clever way from the company and group to acknowledge the criticism, while still making the point that TRCNG has the potential and talent to go far in the Kpop world and will grow and mature into great artists.
“Wolf Baby” is the title track off the group’s newest album, Who Am I.
