On August 23rd KST, The Rose released their third digital single and its music video, “Black Rose.”
The title is a reference to the band’s fandom name and features lyrics that express the group’s gratitude as well as a promise to repay their love whatever happens in the future. The members themselves wrote and composed the track, making it a much more personal project for band and their listeners after months of uncertainty.
“Black Rose” is their first return after a battle against their former label, J&Star Company. The group moved to terminate their contract in February, citing mistreatment and failure to properly provide payment. They are currently promoting as an independent artist while waiting for the results of their request and had a previous comeback with “Red” way back in August 2019.
