Super M has made their debut!
On October 4th at midnight EST, Super M released their debut track “Jopping.” A combination of the word jumping and popping, the talented group shows off their amazing choreography skills in the hard-hitting track that makes an impact for their debut track.
The video is shown in a futuristic setting, with all of the members coming in almost as soldiers or special agents to a huge concert venue in the desert. The vibe of the video seems to say that Super M has arrived and will be capturing the attention of the world in no time.
With strong rapping, singing, and dancing, the group definitely sets out to prove that they’re stunning in all three major aspects of the K-pop genre. In fact, each member was hand-picked by SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man to become a “super group” of K-pop avengers. The group is made up of powerhouse idols such as Taemin of SHINee, Kai and Baekhyun of EXO, and Taeyong, Mark, Ten, and Lucas from NCT. The group was formed under Capitol Records in the USA with the aim of being a U.S. based K-pop group.
In a press conference held before the release of the video and album (also entitled Super M), the members spoke in both Korean and English, answering both questions from the press and fans. They spoke of their excitement in working together, how they have already grown so close despite the junior-senior relationship of some of the members, and how they are learning everything from singing to dancing from each other.
Upon the release of the track, the group immediately began trending worldwide with #SuperM_Jopping, reaching the number one trend worldwide in in just over 10 minutes after the video dropped.
