While fans are still recovering from last month’s emotional pre-release track, Yesung dropped his fourth mini-album and title track, both entitled Beautiful Night, on May 3rd at 6 p.m. KST!
His first solo album in almost two sees the Super Junior main vocalist further expanding on his own musical color by spanning a variety of genres, including ballads, folk, and pop.
“Beautiful Night” is a city-pop track that features dynamic and rhythmic brass arrangements and accompanying retro sounds. The lyrics were written by talented artist and producer Nokdu, who composed the track alongside renowned K-pop producer Jake K and newcomer St_Knox— both from the music production company ARTiffect.
The song’s romantic story conveys the excitement of meeting your favorite people and wanting to spend time with them from daylight to nightfall. It’s dream-like music video captures this concept, drawing a heartwarming picture of two people falling in love on a beautiful night. Starring opposite Yesung as his love interest is actress Park Gyuyoung from popular K-dramas such as “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” and “Sweet Home.”
Beautiful Night contains a total of seven tracks, including the pre-release song “Phantom Pain.” Also featured is the pleasant mid-tempo, acoustic guitar-driven track “Like Us,” as well as a “A Letter In The Wind,” a song with impressive poetic lyrics that will satisfy fans of Yesung’s deeper musical work.
