Ahead of their comeback planned for this summer, and hot on the heels of their historic 2024 Met Gala appearance — Stray Kids warms up fans with the release of English single “Lose My Breath” on May 10th at noon KST, featuring American pop artist Charlie Puth.
The collaboration results from the group’s producing team 3RACHA — consisting of members Bangchan, Changbin, and Han — attending a song camp while being in the States for the “Global Citizen Festival” in September last year. There, they had the opportunity to work with Charlie Puth, creating this song in the process.
“Lose My Breath” is a pop dance song about the unfamiliar feelings that arise when you first meet someone. The track contains strong lyrics, contrasting emotional guitar arpeggios, and a catchy, minimalist synth lead. The repetitive melody line of the chorus and the soft harmonies of Stray Kids and Charlie Puth express the feeling of breathlessness.
Both Charlie Puth and 3RACHA wrote and composed the song in a musical style Stray Kids have never done before. It reveals a new side to the octet and showcases their ever-growing versatility in an already multifaceted discography.
Member Lee Know who is part of Stray Kids’ DANCERACHA unit participated in developing the choreography which is also performed in a style not present in prior Stray Kids choreographies.
The music video concept for “Lose My Breath” is based on “The Little Mermaid” and tells a unique story about love and longing in various ways.
In the lead-up to the release, Stray Kids dropped a new installment of their “INTRO” series, especially for the digital single. The series — which has existed since the group’s second mini album I am NOT — compiles individual interviews and commentary about the upcoming release from each member, as well as behind-the-scenes content from the creative process including recording and learning choreography.
