SHINee’s Minho has released his second solo track after two years!
As a year-end gift for fans, the resident SMTOWN rapper and singer dropped emphatic “Heartbreak” on December 21st at 6 p.m. KST.
The track is a pop song with intense percussive beats and bold synth bass. It speaks of the pain caused by loving someone who takes your relationship for granted. It was written by lyricist Park Taewon who previously worked with fellow SHINee member Taemin on his track “Be Your Enemy (Feat. Wendy of Red Velvet).
“Heartbreak” was composed by a team of musicians and producers including Parrish Warrington, Diederik van Elsas (who previously worked on Key’s “Good Good”), Joren van der Voort, and singer/songwriter Alex Aiono.
Suave and sophisticated, the music video for “Heartbreak” plays out like a cinematic short film. Fitting for natural actor Minho who displays his charms in each scene as he relays the song’s emotional impact both visually and audibly.
“Heartbreak” is the second solo single from the SHINee member, following his 2019 SM Station song “I’m Home” prior to enlistment. Many fans have expressed their hope for a solo album for Minho as he is the only SHINee member yet to release one. “Heartbreak” provides further example as to why we hope so too!
