WATCH: Seo Soojin Smolders In “Agassy” Solo Debut MV

Seo Soojin is back!

On November 8th at 6 p.m. KST, the former (G)I-DLE member made her highly-anticipated return as an idol with her solo debut track “AGASSY” along with an elegant music video.

Written by Kang Eunjeong and Mok Jimin, the song is characterized by the sound of the oriental instruments as well as its “unique color with the strange feeling of crossing the past and present.” Yuth and Puff composed the melody.

Its predominantly red and black sleek music video features recognizable Korean motifs incorporated in the set design as well as in Soojin’s outfit which resembled the traditional hanbok and her hairpin which is called a binyeo.

AGASSY contains a total of six tracks that span different genres: “Flowering,” “AGASSY,” “Sunflower,” TyTy,” “SUNSET,” and “bloodredroses.” According to her official press release, the album aims to highlight a new blend of Soojin’s qualities which are both pure and enchanting as well as charismatic and mysterious.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
