On July 12th at 6 p.m. KST, Sandara Park released her first digital EP along with a music video for its title track, “FESTIVAL!”
The song was written by B&NAz (153/Joombas), Joo Younghoon, and Sandara Park layered with a heavy sampling of Uhm Junghwa‘s original 1999 hit of the same name. It expresses a bright feeling of positivity towards the present and the future, hoping that only good things are coming their way from now on.
According to the singer, the song shares her desire to show the best musical color that represents her as well as the hope that the track will make everyone who listens to it feel better. The music video for “FESTIVAL” features Jo Seho, Kim Sook, Park Sohyun, and Uhm Junghwa herself.
Sandara Park’s self-titled digital mini-album features five tracks in total with writing credits and production credits from Sunwoo Jung-a, Hoody, Gray, and Heize. The EP marks her first album release in South Korea, her first musical release since “Kiss” in 2009, and her first overall release since leaving YG Entertainment in 2021.
