On September 21st at 12 p.m. KST, Campus Entertainment boy group RoaD-B released their latest track, “Icarus.”
Borrowing from the Greek mythology figure of the same name who flew so high to escape imprisonment that his artificial wings melted from the sun’s heat, RoaD-B uses this story to craft a unique song about deep desire. Lyrically, it depicts the long journey towards what you want, even if you might fall like Icarus. It was written by Sweetune lyricists Song Sooyoon and Lee Hyungseok.
The track is an uptempo pop dance song that contains a swirling atmosphere strengthened by fast synths and dreamy guitar riffs. It continues the nostalgic K-pop sound present in the polished Sweetune-produced first single “Nonstop” back in April. Likewise, the music of “Icarus” is the work of Sweetune founders Han Jaeho and Kim Seungsoo.
RoaD-B is a rebranding of BXK (BOYS X KING) which debuted in November 2020. BXK released three songs: “Fly High,” “NOYB” and “Excuse Me.” The group officially rebranded as RoaD-B on January 1st, 2022.
