WATCH: Red Velvet’s Joy Inspires With “Hello” Solo MV

Red Velvet‘s Joy has finally made her solo debut!

On May 31st at 6 p.m. KST, she revealed her first EP titled Hello which has a title track of the same name. The song is a remake of the 2003 piece by Park Hyekyung which was written by the singer alongside Kang Hyunmin and Park Jiwon.

Joy’s version is of the modern rock genre, arranged by KENZIE, with lyrics that sing about leaving behind the difficulties of the past and looking forward to hopeful things to come.

The mini-album has six tracks and comes in three physical versions. Each track is a reinterpretation of well-loved songs from the 1990s and 2000s which includes TOY‘s “Be There For You,” Sung Sikyung‘s “If Only,” and more. “Je T’aime” (originally a 2001 single by Hey) was released on May 26th at 6 p.m. KST ahead of her official solo debut.
