On December 14th at 6 p.m. KST, Red Velvet and aespa sparks a flurry of excitement with their collaboration track and its music video, “Beautiful Christmas.”
The carol dance song features a lively swing rhythm and rhythmic bass and piano sounds that convey the anticipation for the holidays and the fond appreciation for loved ones who share this moment with them. Its lyrics were written by Jaewon Kim (Jam Factory) while Justin Reinstein (@NUMBER K), ALYSA (@NUMBER K), and JJean (@NUMBER K) composed the track.
“Beautiful Christmas” is part of SMTOWN‘s special SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE project which showcases exciting collaborations between different artists under their agency including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, and aespa.
In December last year, SMTOWN dropped their first joint winter album in a decade titled 2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS. before starting 2022 with a gift for fans by streaming a special “SMTOWN 2022: SMCU EXPRESS” online concert free of charge. The label now sets out to close off the year with the release of the full SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE album on December 26th KST.
On New Year’s Day (January 1st KST), fans can look forward to another free digital concert called “2023 SMTOWN LIVE: SMCU PALACE @KWANGYA” through platforms such as Youtube, Beyond LIVE, and more!
