Kisum, the “Unpretty Rapstar” and “Show Me The Money” alum, is back with a high energy song for those springtime blues!
On March 23rd, female rapper Kisum released her digital single “Primero,” the title track off the single album The 1st Key To Sum Island and the first release for her project SUM ISLAND.
Kisum wrote the lyrics, as she does with all her raps, and composed the track with Bicksancho — a former Cube Entertainment producer and a member of the production team Yummy Tone — and producer GoodVibes, who also worked on the song’s arrangement.
Kisum’s own witty lyrics express the various emotions experienced when falling in love. It tells the story of trying not to get caught up in the feelings of love, but eventually falling and making the person number one in your heart.
Kisum’s unique vocal charm and powerful rapping over the song’s trap beat and playful synths perfectly capture the exciting feelings one feels during those initial stages of falling for someone.
The bright and bubbly music video features vivid colors and graphics that make you feel like you’re watching an art film. The makeup and outfit choices are stunningly original and express Kisum’s individual and one-of-a-kind style.
You can also see her popping dance moves and cute choreography alongside her backup dancers who all share amazing chemistry together
Kisum has been in the industry for a number of years, debuting in 2013. She has had a string of hits and successful collaborations with many K-pop artists during her career. She has featured on tracks with SISTAR‘s Hyolyn, MAMAMOO‘s Hwasa, GFRIEND‘s Eunha and Yerin, soloist Heize, singer-songwriter Stella Jang, rappers KILLAGRAMZ, San E, duo Homme and more. Kisum is a strong force in her own right and well-beloved within the K-hiphop scene.
