Between establishing his own company NAKED and self-promoting at Coachella, KINO has been extremely busy in the lead-up to his first solo EP, If this is love, I want a refund.
It was released on May 2nd at 6 p.m. KST along with the music video for the title track “Broke My Heart” which sees the PENTAGON member collaborate with Philadelphia rapper Lay Bankz. The song contains brutally honest lyrics that are relatable to anyone who has ever been betrayed by love.
Not only did KINO write and compose every track on the EP, but he was also heavily involved in the production. With its unique and quirky title, If this is love, I want a refund is an album showcasing KINO’s all-around talent and personal color, which is one of the reasons for departing longtime company CUBE Entertainment and establishing his one-person agency last year.
Since then, the artist has staged his solo concert “BORN NAKED” in Korea, Japan, Taipei, and Hong Kong. Most recently KINO shared a video of himself approaching random people at Coachella and had them listen to and rate “Broke my Heart,” with one of those people being Hollywood actor Simu Liu.
The singer-songwriter frequently documents many of these adventures for fans through YouTube and TikTok to show how it was all made possible through hard work.
