Peniel of BTOB made his solo comeback on June 19th at 6 p.m. KST!
story of my L:ife is the first part of Peniel’s single project, and contains two tracks including the title song, “MIoBI (Make It Or Break It).”
The fast-paced track combines the dynamics of the rock genre with Peniel’s cool vocals, which are rarely showcased as a rapper. The lyrics are about the freedom of breaking out of the box and reminiscing about one’s glory days that were experienced through a deep relationship with someone in the past. It conveys the message of wanting to feel the same energy again in the present.
Peniel participated in writing and composing “MIoBI” with producer KAIROS and his team at Decade+ Music including CELOTRON, K.O, and NOTHER. Not only is KAIROS the BTOB member’s brother-in-law, but he has worked with Peniel on every one of his solo tracks going all the way back to their joint mixtape Homesick Vol. 1 in 2016.
story of my L:ife also features the track “Come Home,” another KAIROS-produced number. The emo-style punk tune once again showcases Peniel’s impressive vocals. The song depicts the complex feelings of an addictive relationship. It is an honest account of a man’s raw feelings about his lover’s betrayal and refusal to be fooled by lies anymore.
Earlier this year, Peniel and his BTOB group mates Eunkwang, Minhyuk, and Hyunsik launched their label BTOB Company, after reaching an agreement with former company CUBE Entertainment over the use of the boy group’s name.
