ONEUS kicked off their special project “ONEUS THEATRE” with the release of “Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot!” on August 5th at 12 p.m. KST.
The fan-favorite was pre-released before the group’s debut and performed in concert. Now, it has been re-worked to be finally given an official studio release!
It is a song that explodes with ONEUS’ signature and distinctive wild charm, expressed through intense beats and sharp saw synths. In particular, use of the technique of masking drums on top of a melody creates a thrilling and exciting atmosphere.
The writing and composition of the track was led by RBW hitmakers Kim Dohoon and Lee Sangho, as well as ONEUS’ main producer Seo Yongbae. Main rappers Ravn and Leedo also contributed to the lyrics while Ravn further participated in composing.
Inspired by the post-apocalyptic film “Mad Max: Fury Road,” the accompanying cinematic MV showcases a powerful and epic performance by the RBW boy group. It was directed by Yoo Seongkyun of video production company Sunny Visual, known for their use of slick and sophisticated CG production and strong imagery which a theme that continues in this performance MV.
Each members’ rough and charismatic appearances and striking choreography is reminiscent of ONEUS’ theatrical stages on last year’s “Road To Kingdom” which put the team’s formidable synergy and performance chemistry on display.
An English version of “Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot!” has also been released with English lyrics contributed by prolific K-pop singer-songwriter eSNa.
