On March 15th at 6 p.m. KST, NU’EST dropped a “best of” collection along with a music video for their title track, “Again.”
The song, co-written and co-composed by member Baekho alongside Bumzu and PRISMFILTER, talks wistfully about the ache of change and a promise to treasure the memories. It also leaves a reassurance that their feelings towards each other will remain steadfast despite the flow of time. The album Needle & Bubble contains remastered versions of NU’EST’s previously released hits and is the first and only album of its kind that the group has put out.
In 2017, four members went on to compete in “Produce 101 Season 2” and managed to grip the nation with their emotional desire to keep their group going after a long period of uncertainty. While only Minhyun made it to the final line-up (which formed the wildly successful project team Wanna One), NU’EST found themselves resurging in charts and in overall popularity.
The remaining four members temporarily promoted as the sub-unit NU’EST W during Minhyun’s absence which lasted from July 2017 to December 2018. Wanna One officially disbanded on January 2019 and Minhyun returned to his activities with NU’EST in April. He released the solo single “Universe” ahead of their long-awaited full group comeback with Happily Ever After.
However, in February 2022, Pledis Entertainment stunned fans with the announcement that three out of five NU’EST members decided not to renew their contracts with the company and that the group will be bidding farewell on the day of their 10th anniversary.
