WATCH: NS Yoon-G Reworks 2012 Hit “If You Love Me” With MONSTA X’s Joohoney In Special Clip

NS Yoon-G has made a welcomed return to the K-pop scene!

On May 22nd at 6 p.m. KST, the singer released a brand new version of her breakout hit “If You Love Me” featuring Joohoney of MONSTA X

The original – released in 2012 – featured Jay Park and expressed a different feel to the revamped 2021 version which has been rearranged with a more intense hip-hop rhythm. NS Yoon-G’s mature and sorrowful vocals harmoniously meet Joohoney’s fresh and powerful rap, re-introducing the song to a new generation of fans.

As part of the “Room Casting” project by 722 Studio, the release marks Yoon-G’s return to music after 6 years,  following 2015’s “Honey Summer.” Since then, she has been working as an actress under her real name, Kim Yoonji. She starred in dramas and films, appearing on variety shows, and taking up various modelling and hosting gigs.

Yoon-G debuted in 2009 with the song “Headache” and released hit tracks such as “Reason To Become A Witch,” “Yasisi,” and “Wifey (Feat. MC Mong)” among others. The songstress is greatly beloved by fans for her strong performances embodying female empowerment, earning titles such as “femme fatale,” “goddess,” and “natural beauty.”

She is noted for learning dances such as popping, breaking and other styles which were typically male-dominated, from Korean breakdancing pioneer, Poppin’ Hyunjun. Growing up in LA, the singer’s unique music style reflects that and is reminiscent of late 90s/early 00s American female R&B artists. Let’s hope this is the start of more new music to come from NS Yoon-G!
