On July 20th KST, NewJeans dropped two mesmerizing music videos for one of their three title tracks!
“Cool With You” expresses thoughts about a lover who perfectly complements them and they can’t stop thinking of them. The song has a UK Garage rhythm and an understated vocal tone reminiscent of that of the 90s.
Member Danielle helped pen its lyrics alongside Gigi, Kim Donghyun, Erika de Casier, and Fine Glindvad Jensen. Meanwhile, Park Jinsu, Frankie Scoca, Erika de Casier, and Fine Glindvad Jensen composed the track.
Its music videos follow an intriguing story of a mysterious being played by actress-model Jung Hoyeon who was captivated by a human and decided to reach out to be with him. Iconic Hong Kong actor-singer Tony Leung makes a brief yet foreboding appearance in the “side B” music video which distinctly shows Jung Hoyeon being unnerved by his sudden presence.
NewJeans’ second EP Get Up features a total of six songs with “Super Shy,” “ETA,” and “Cool With You” being the triple title tracks. According to their agency, the group shows off a more grown-up style with this album. Still, it keeps their natural sophisticated charm along with their determination to produce more good music. Watch out for its release on July 21st KST!
