BADVILLAIN is the newest girl group on the scene!
Following two pre-release performance videos “Hurricane” and “+82,” the seven-member team made their official debut on June 3rd at 6 p.m. KST with their first single album OVERSTEP.
The title track “BADVILLAIN” is a dance song based on the genre of hip-hop and an intense one-chord beat that allows the group performance to stand out. The melodic main riff is weighty and leaves a strong impression that can be felt right from the introduction. A grand and classical orchestra sound elevates the addictive hook and unique rapping to showcase the abundant charms of BADVILLAIN.
The song was written by Villain36 (pseudonym of the group’s executive director MC Mong), Niallivdab, and Bufobabas, while the former two composed the track with EastWest, JUNZO (NEWTYPE Ent.), Woo Taewoon (formerly of K-pop group SPEED) and lyricist Livy.
BADVILLAIN’s confident and assertive attitude is displayed throughout the debut music video. It features choreography that was created by two powerhouse choreographers Casper and Kany, who collectively have participated in works by some of K-pop and the world’s biggest acts.
