WATCH: NCT NEW TEAM Take On The Challenge In “Hands Up” Pre-Debut MV

NCT‘s newest and final additions to the group are here!

On October 19th at 6 p.m. KST, NCT NEW TEAM (temporary name) launched their pre-debut single and its music video, “Hands Up.”

The song has a strong synth sound accompanied by a powerful bass line and lyrics that express the anticipation of being on the starting line of a soaring new adventure. It was penned by SMTOWN hitmaker KENZIE(original Korean lyrics) and h.toyosaki (Japanese lyrics) while KENZIE, Ludvig Evers, Jonatan Gusmark, and Adrian McKinnon composed the melody. The single album Hands Up also features the B-side track “We Go!”

NCT NEW TEAM is composed of Sion, Riku, Yushi, Daeyoung, Ryo, and Sakuya who were all selected through SM Entertainment‘s trainee survival show “NCT Universe: LASTART” which aired in July and wrapped up in September. Considered as NCT’s Japanese sub-unit, the group marks the end of the superteam’s infinite expansion concept.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
