On August 23rd at 1 p.m. KST, NCT DREAM unveiled their latest release with the English single “Rains in Heaven.”
The track is a 1980s-style pop song that harmoniously blends rhythmic drum and bass, emotional synth sounds, and NCT DREAM’s sweet vocals. The lyrics empathize with the pain of those who are tired and struggling, promising to be there for them. The song provides a warm and comforting message to listeners around the world.
In particular, member Mark‘s contribution to the lyrics adds an authentic touch to “Rains in Heaven.” The NCT rapper lands a lead songwriting credit alongside popular K-pop producer Adrian Mckinnon, in addition to the singer-songwriter and frontman of British band I See MONSTAS, Bryn Christopher.
The music video that accompanies the track tells a hopeful story of the seven members uniting together. As the world is ending, the group welcomes a new beginning instead. It was shot in Thailand, creating a mysterious and dreamy atmosphere. Meanwhile, the desolate beauty of the location, as well as the emotional performances of the members, are especially memorable.
