I.M of MONSTA X has made his comeback with his latest solo effort and third EP, entitled Off The Beat, on April 3rd at 6 p.m. KST.
The title song “Lure” incorporates Bossa Nova and Latin sounds with an intense beat and sultry guitar which accompanies I.M’s signature voice and distinctive rapping style.
The cinematic-style music video for “Lure” is sleek and sophisticated, seeing I.M mysteriously chasing the memories of a past love. Meanwhile, the rapper’s love interest is played by Choi Hyojoo — a rising rookie actress and model in Korea who has been capturing the public’s attention with her stunning visuals.
As the name suggests, Off The Beat has been categorized as an album that is “unconventional” and “not following the regular” in terms of its musical elements. I.M participated in the production of the record in addition to writing and composing each of the six tracks.
Collaborating with well-versed Korean producers Wooki, Long Drive, and The Need, the follow-up to last year’s Overdrive marks the artist’s second release under Sony Music Korea.
