On July 11th at 12 p.m. KST, Minzy brought a captivating performance with the release of her new digital single and music video, “TEAMO”!
The Latin hip-hop song has lyrics that expresses a passionate love and the longing to draw closer to someone. Minzy herself co-wrote the lines and poured her yearning to meet fans into a story similar to Romeo and Juliet’s. Its music video features a flashy performance which complements the feel of a hot humid summer.
Gionata Carraciolo, who has worked with artists like Super Junior, Red Velvet, and Cravity, penned the lines alongside the singer and worked with Sofia Ahläng and Janne Hyöty to create the composition.
Minzy was formerly part of YG Entertainment’s hit all-female group, 2ne1. After their unexpected disbandment, she left the agency in 2016 and joined The Music Works to continue promotions as an artist. She also took part in the second season of the variety show “Sisters’ Slam Dunk” and became part of the project group Unnies.
In April 2017, Minzy made her solo debut with a mini-album and its lead single, “Ninano.” She last returned with the digital track “Lovely” in May 2020.
