WATCH: MCND Is “Movin’” To Meet Again In Latest Music Video

MCND made their comeback after almost eight months with their third mini-album, [THE EARTH: SECRET MISSION Chapter.1], dropping title track “Movin’” on August 31st at 6 p.m. KST.

The song is a hip-hop dance track with trap beats that expresses strength through a combination of powerful beats, funky arrangements, and vibrant styles. It contains the message of MCND longing to meet fans whom they have not been able to share the same space with in person since their debut, due to the coronavirus.

Leader and main rapper Castle J, who has participated in the creation of MCND’s title tracks since debut, continues that trend as one of the songwriters for “Movin’,” infusing the song with the group’s signature energy and witty lyrics. Members Win and Bic also contributed to lyrics on the album’s B-side “Cat’s Waltz.”

Additional songwriters for the track are lyricists Goo Jieun, Cole S, Jo Areum, Park Youngwoong, and Kang Eunjung, all of whom have collectively worked with other fourth generation K-pop boy groups, including CRAVITY, DRIPPIN and ENHYPEN

“Movin’” was composed and arranged by prominent multi-platinum producer Hanif Hitmanic Sabzevari, alongside OSKAR, CHILLOVEN and SIROO.

The music video sees MCND searching for microphones in various locations such as a laser room and a Moroccan market alley in order to get back on stage in front of fans. The visually fun MV shows off the group’s sophisticated and high-tension dance performance and continues to establish their unique identity.

Following MCND’s AGE album series, [THE EARTH: SECRET MISSION Chapter.1] kicks off a new series with the story of a mission that must be carried out in order to meet the fans.

Despite the obstacles of the global pandemic, MCND got creative and were in fact the first group to hold video fansigns, which has become a vital way for all K-pop groups to connect with fans around the world for the past 18 months.

The group is further breaking down barriers for fans to access and connect to their music, with official audio videos of every song from the latest album on the MCND official YouTube channel— complete with English subtitles for the lyrics.

Being so generous with their music hasn’t hindered the success of the group, receiving rave reviews since their debut with “Ice Age,” which was included in U.S Paper Magazine’s “The 40 Best K-pop Songs of 2020.” Additionally, earlier this year they entered the Billboard charts with the title song “Crush” from their second mini-album, MCND AGE.

[THE EARTH: SECRET MISSION Chapter.1] contains six tracks including the group’s first English song “Reason” which was featured in the album’s official trailer.
