WATCH: Lee Hong Ki Won’t Let Anything Keep Him Down In “COOKIES” MV With BTOB’s Ilhoon

FTISLAND‘s Lee Hong Ki has made his official solo comeback!

On October 18th at 6 p.m. KST, the talented artist released the music video for “COOKIES.” The track features rapper Ilhoon of BTOB. Combining Lee Hong Ki’s trademark vocals— known for his strength and range, as well as his husky tone— with Ilhoon’s smooth rap skills was a refreshing sound for a solo track by the FTISLAND singer.

The lyrics of the song talk about overcoming obstacles and how things that sought to bring the singer down no longer have control over him as he has found strength in those who love and support him. The final lyrics of the track even explain to listeners that the end of the song isn’t really the end but just a promise of even better things to come.

Korean films are famous for including “cookies” at the end of their films where a short scene will play unexpectedly after the ending credits are over. The song draws a parallel of how you should always wait for the cookies even though things seem like they’re at an end, there is something special still waiting for you.

The new track is off Lee Hong Ki’s new solo mini-album, DO n DO!

Check out the fun and positive video below! What do you think of the song?
