Celebrating his 20th anniversary in the Korean music industry, legendary singer-songwriter Kim Jae Joong has released his fourth full-length album FLOWER GARDEN on June 26th at 6 p.m KST.
The title track “Glorious Day” is a song that Kim Jaejoong participated writing and expresses his gratitude towards those who have supported him. Its message celebrates everyday together as a glorious day while his powerful vocals and refreshing melody captivates listeners with overwhelming emotions.
The music video contains Jaejoong’s dazzling visuals alongside a single flower that becomes a gorgeous flower garden, representing the vast growth and beauty of his fans over the past 20 years. To make it even more special, the singer participated in the entire production of FLOWER GARDEN which has been in development for two years since the establishment of the his own agency, iNKODE Entertainment.
The album contains 14 tracks including the pre-release single “I AM U” and the CD-only song “201208” which was entirely written, composed and arranged by Jaejoong himself. In addition, there are also two major collaborations: “The Light” featuring Moonbyul of MAMAMOO, and “Dopamine” with Japanese rock star MIYAVI.
The theme of flowers dates all the way back to 2004, the year Kim Jaejoong made his debut as a member of TVXQ! (also known as DBSK and Tohoshinki in Japan). In the group’s debut music video for “Hug,” a 17 year old Jaejoong holds a bouquet of red roses while dressed in white, in a similar fashion to the closing scene of the “Glorious Day” MV.
During his time with the group, Jaejoong was part of one of K-pop’s most iconic songs in TVXQ!’s “Mirotic,” and went on to experience further success as a member of JYJ, with two of his TVXQ! group mates in 2009. Jaejoong is also an award-winning actor in both Korea and Japan, and has maintained chart-topping success in both countries through his work with TVXQ!, JYJ, and, of course, as a soloist.
