JYP Entertainment has made plans once again for an all new boy band, this time through the nine-member group, Stray Kids!
On October 6th KST, a music video for the new track, entitled “Hellevator,” was released on the V Live channel “Stray Kids.” The song starts off slowly, led by a piano medley, before quickly transforming into an upbeat and incredibly dynamic tune. The EDM-style instrumental pairs well with the inclining bridge, high-tone chorus, and impressive rap verses. Viewers and fans alike have already been raving over the unique song style, as well as the group’s incredible dance skills that are showcased in the video!
Stray Kids is a new group made up of nine male trainees from JYP Entertainment who will soon be competing on a new television program, also entitled “Stray Kids.” The survival-style show is a collaborative effort between JYP Entertainment and Mnet (who is also responsible for popular idol survival shows such as “Produce 101” and “Idol School”). It is said the show will be the company going “against” this pre-made group by testing them in various ways, such as their teamwork, prior to their official debut.
The music video for “Hellevator” is actually considered a pre-debut track and acts as a way to introduce fans to the group’s members and music style. The reason behind the word “stray” in their name was supposedly due to the hopes that the group will continue to stray around and attempt any genre thrown at them, not necessarily sticking to a particular style.
The first episode of “Stray Kids” is set to air on October 17th at 11 p.m. KST! Meanwhile, check out the amazing new music video below!
