Soloist Ju Wontak made his return after a long hiatus with new single titled “Disappearing Star” on May 6th at 6 p.m. KST.
The song is a medium-tempo dance ballad with rock elements and contains instrumentation that perfectly harmonizes with Wontak’s smooth and appealing voice. Written and composed by singer-songwriter O.zic, its lyrics compare the heart of an unrequited love to a star.
“Disappearing Star” is Wontak’s first release after almost 3 years, following his solo debut in 2018 with “In The Light.” Reminiscent of a boy becoming an adult, the song reflects Wontak’s journey from idol to solo artist, as well as his maturity and growth coexisting with his established boyish charms. The singer stated that this album was made for all the fans and his family who trusted, waited, and supported him through a hard and tiring time.
Ju Wontak rose to fame as a contestant on “Produce 101 Season 2” and eventual member of the shows project group RAINZ from 2017-2018.
