Jeong Sewoon of Starship Entertainment has finally made his official debut with “JUST U.”
On August 31st KST, the full music video for his debut title track was released. “JUST U” is a smooth, R&B track produced by popular production duo, GroovyRoom. The lyrics convey how, no matter what, he can’t think of anyone else but the one he loves. It also talks about how hard it is to gather confidence to talk to her. The song and music video feature rapper Sik-K whose sing-rap style mixes well with the honey-like vocals of Sewoon. The music video is pulsed with the sweet feeling of having a crush, yet is visually very modern and aesthetically pleasing.
The solo singer originally gathered popularity through his time on “Produce 101: Season 2” where he made it all the way into the top 20 before being cut just outside of the top 11 that were chosen for Wanna One.
Sewoon’s first solo album, Ever, features six tracks in all. The songs vary from R&B to acoustic to purely piano driven ballads. However, the album is titled as “Part. 1,” meaning there could be a part two to Ever or perhaps a repackaged version in the near future.
After its release, the song reached number one on Genie and Bugs charts, as well as number three on Melon.
