IU has released her fifth full album along with a music video for “LILAC”!
On March 25th at 6 p.m. KST, the singer officially introduced her latest title track, “LILAC,” which uses the fresh imagery of spring to describe the emotions of a looming separation. In an interview with W Korea, she mentions that the flower lilac represents “first love” as well as “memories of youth.”
LILAC is IU’s fifth studio album and the last album she’ll release in her 20s. It serves as a farewell to a chapter in her life while also welcoming a new beginning as she hits 30. 10 songs comprise the album’s tracklist and are headlined by double title tracks, “LILAC” and “Coin.” “Celebrity” was pre-released in January.
Through her music, she aims to express her gratitude to everyone who had watched over her sincerely during her journey.
