IU is back!
On February 20th at 6 p.m. KST, she released her latest mini-album along with a music video for one of its double title tracks, “Shopper.”
The electro-pop song paints the story of “shoppers” who pick things that resonate with them and gather them in their carts. While other people do not understand their choices and consider them frivolous, each shopper knows themselves best. IU reminds the listeners through her music that only you can decide on what makes you happy and nobody else can dictate if they are worth it or not.
The accompanying music video for “Shopper” features DPR Ian who narrates the story of a mysterious shop and becomes IU’s trusty accomplice in their magical journey.
The Winning is IU’s sixth mini-album and features five songs including the pre-released tracks “Love wins all” featuring BTS‘s Jungkook and “Holssi.” Since this is the first album that she unveiled in her 30s, the singer says that she approached its production with a more confidently mature understanding of what she wants but with the same passion as she always had.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
