On February 23rd at midnight KST, IU released a music video for a B-side track off her recent album!
“Shh..” is a song written by IU herself that features a deep blues and R&B sound. Its lyrics ponder on the complex experiences of the generations of women that came before her and how special the relationships between their lives are. Lee Jonghoon and Lee Chaegyu composed the track.
NewJeans‘ HYEIN and singer Joe Won Sun are featured in the song while veteran artist Patti Kim also participated through a narration of the story that unfolds in the accompanying music video. Actress Tang Wei, who starred in a music video for the first time, plays a troubled woman coming to terms with the things that haunt her.
The Winning is IU’s sixth mini-album and features five songs including the pre-released tracks “Love wins all” featuring BTS‘s Jungkook, “Holssi,” and the title track “Shopper” with DPR Ian. Since this is the first album she unveiled in her 30s, the singer says that she approached its production with a more confidently mature understanding of what she wants but with the same passion she always had.
